How to naturally treat a UTI at home without antibiotics
As just about every woman knows, a urinary tract infection can come on at the worst time, and often without warning. It’s among the most common complaints in women’s health and UTIs are something that millions of women have struggled with. We all dread the painful feeling of the onset of a UTI and the anxiety that accompanies it. Nobody wants the stress of having to go to a doctor, pay for antibiotics and deal with the common side effects that we are all too familiar with. How many women do you know who have complained of feeling raw after a course of antibiotics and often having to deal with yeast infections afterwards? What if there was another way? What if there was a way to safely deal with a UTI at the immediate onset - without antibiotics and in the privacy of your own home?
Cleanse, by Purity Hygienix, is a completely natural and drug free revolution in at-home feminine care. Women now have the ability to take care of issues at the first sign, before they develop into more significant problems. Cleanse is an all natural topical and suppository that can safely and quickly relieve UTIs, yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis (BV), odor and more. It does this all using only the power of organic and wild-crafted plants without any synthetic drugs or chemicals.
How does Cleanse work?
Cleanse uses natural plant oils that have been demonstrated in many independent studies to have a broad range of anti-bacterial and anti-fungal activity against many disease-causing pathogens without causing harm to healthy cells. At the same time it helps to clear bad bacteria, other ingredients have soothing anti-inflammatory effects. Cleanse is one of the safest and most effective ways to correct a bacterial imbalance without disrupting your natural flora and creating even more problems.
Two of the key ingredients are clove and thyme. One of the major naturally occurring compounds in clove is eugenol. Eugenol has been extensively studied and has been shown to have potent anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory effects. According to this study (Pharmacological Properties and Health Benefits of Eugenol: A Comprehensive Review), eugenol is also noted by the World Health Organization to be Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS).
One of the naturally occurring compounds in Thyme is thymol. This also has potent anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory effects. Thymol is also quite effective at clearing biofilms that can be a key cause of chronic or recurring infections.
(One of many sources: Thymol and Thyme Essential Oil-New Insights into Selected Therapeutic Applications). Of course we don’t use synthetic, modified, or isolated compounds in our products. We only use whole extracts or oils, which contain many complex and varied naturally occurring compounds..
Cleanse also contains other extracts and oils that are highly anti-inflammatory and soothing, like German Chamomile (Chamomile ( Matricaria chamomilla L.): A Review of Ethnomedicinal Use, Phytochemistry and Pharmacological Uses). Chamomile has many beneficial effects but you’ll appreciate how it can calm inflamed and sensitive skin.

What Cleanse is not
Cleanse is not a drug. It’s not made by a pharmaceutical company. It has not been reviewed or approved by the FDA. It does not contain any synthetic compounds. It’s not made by people who see you as a statistic. We also cannot legally claim to cure or treat any disease or condition. Indeed, we are not making any such claims, because we have not invented some unique synthetic drug. All we have done is discovered a very unique formula that leverages the power of naturally occurring substances in a very innovative way so that women everywhere can regain control of their feminine health.
How are UTIs commonly contracted?
When women contract a UTI, we often have no idea exactly how we got it. These things can just happen from daily living. Women are naturally more susceptible to UTIs than men based on our anatomy. That said, there are certain common pathways where bacteria get to where they shouldn't be. This is NOT an exhaustive list, just a few common contamination routes.
- Sexual activity. This is among the most frequent ways that bacteria can infiltrate the urethra and cause problems. Oral sex is a key cause. Make sure to practice good oral hygiene! And it doesn’t matter if you are single or in a monogamous relationship, UTIs can happen to anyone.
- Contamination by fecal bacteria. E. coli is a common pathogen. If bacteria spreads from the back to front, it can cause a UTI.
- Medical procedures like receiving a catheter or from foreign objects.
What are other natural methods I can try to treat a UTI at home?
Here are a few common home remedies that many women have tried. Sometimes they are successful, but often women will have mixed results with them, and after trying them for a few days, their UTI can potentially get worse and can lead to complications.
- D-mannose is a type of sugar that is believed to work by allowing bacteria in the urinary tract to attach and bond to the sugar molecules and be flushed out with urine. Results are not always effective with active infections. It’s thought to be mainly effective as a preventative.
- Some people claim that boric acid suppositories can be used to help a UTI, but this is inconclusive. Boric acid is commonly used to treat yeast infections and BV, but due to poor absorption, is not a generally recommended option for a UTI.
- Herbal formulas or teas like uva ursi, sage, corn silk, etc can be effective depending on the herbs used and the amount consumed. The herbs used should generally have a diuretic effect to help flush the urinary tract, as well as have known broad-spectrum natural antimicrobial properties. Make sure to increase your water intake if consuming diuretic herbs. Generally speaking, one or two cups of tea is not nearly enough to clear a UTI. Expect to consume at least a quart of tea a day for several days to flush out the offending bacteria. Make sure you work with a knowledgeable person who is well-versed with using herbs to clear UTIs. However, teas alone won’t always work.
In closing, always use your best judgment in dealing with these issues at home. If you don’t experience relief within 2-3 days of at-home care, consult your healthcare provider. An untreated UTI can lead to more severe complications if it reaches your bladder or kidneys.
